Eating Disorder Therapy in Downingtown, PA

Eating disorders can take up a lot of space — in your thoughts, your routines, your relationships, and the way you move through your day. Together, we’ll identify the patterns that have developed around food and your body, understand what may be underneath them, and begin building a relationship with yourself that feels more flexible, connected, and sustainable.

Support for eating disorders & disordered eating

Eating disorders are rarely just about food. They can be tied to anxiety, perfectionism, control, identity, self-worth, sensory experiences, relationships, or the ways you have learned to cope when things feel overwhelming. I work with clients experiencing:

❋ Anorexia
❋ Bulimia
❋ Binge eating disorder
❋ ARFID
❋ OSFED
❋ Food anxiety or guilt
❋ Restrictive or chaotic eating patterns
❋ Compulsive movement
❋ Body image concerns
❋ Persistent thoughts about food, weight, or appearance

You may already have a diagnosis, or you may simply know that your relationship with food and your body is taking up more energy than you want it to. We can start there.

What eating disorder therapy can look like

Therapy with me is collaborative and individualized.

Some sessions may focus on what is happening right now – a difficult meal, a body image spiral, an urge, or a pattern you noticed during the week. Other sessions may go deeper into perfectionism, anxiety, family dynamics, identity, past experiences, or the beliefs you have learned about yourself.

My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, somatic practices, ACT, DBT-informed skills, narrative therapy, and trauma-informed care.

The goal is not to force you into a perfect version of recovery. It is to help you better understand yourself, build practical tools for difficult moments, and create more space between what you feel and how you respond.

Eating disorder therapy for teens & adults

I work with both teens and adults at different stages of recovery.

For teens, therapy may include support around food, body image, anxiety, school, relationships, and emotional regulation. When appropriate, I may also collaborate with parents, caregivers, dietitians, physicians, or other members of the treatment team.

For adults, our work may also explore perfectionism, work and relationship stress, identity, transitions, and long-standing patterns that have become difficult to carry.

My background includes several years working at The Renfrew Center’s Partial Hospitalization Program, experience with family-based therapy, and work with children and teens in both individual and group settings.
