Anxiety Therapy in Downingtown, PA

Anxiety can make even ordinary parts of life feel harder than they should. You may find yourself overthinking conversations, preparing for every possible outcome, or feeling like your mind and body are always a few steps ahead of you. Together, we can slow things down, understand the patterns that keep showing up, and build steadier ways of responding when anxiety takes over.

Support for anxiety that feels hard to turn off

Anxiety can show up in a lot of different ways. Sometimes it looks like constant worry. Other times, it may look like irritability, avoidance, trouble sleeping, difficulty concentrating, physical tension, reassurance seeking, or feeling like you are always waiting for something to go wrong. I work with clients navigating:

❋ Generalized anxiety
❋ Social anxiety
❋ Panic and intense fear
❋ Perfectionism
❋ Overthinking
❋ People pleasing
❋ Avoidance
❋ Stress and overwhelm
❋ Body image concerns
❋ Difficulty with uncertainty
❋ Physical symptoms of anxiety

You may know exactly what you are anxious about, or you may just feel on edge without knowing why. But we can take the first step together.

What anxiety therapy can look like

Therapy with me is supportive and practical.

Some sessions may focus on what is happening in the moment – a spiral you cannot seem to stop, a situation you are avoiding, or the pressure you are putting on yourself. Other sessions may explore deeper patterns around control, self-worth, expectations, relationships, or past experiences.

My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, somatic practices, ACT, DBT-informed skills, narrative therapy, and trauma-informed care.

We may work on noticing anxious thought patterns, learning ways to regulate your nervous system, tolerating uncertainty, setting boundaries, or responding differently to the urge to avoid, overprepare, or seek reassurance. The goal is not to eliminate every anxious thought. It is to help anxiety have less control over what you do next.

Anxiety therapy for teens & adults

I work with both teens and adults navigating anxiety at different stages of life.

For teens, anxiety may show up around school, friendships, performance, social situations, family stress, or pressure to meet expectations.

For adults, it may be tied to work, relationships, caregiving, major transitions, perfectionism, or the feeling that there is always something else you should be doing.

Wherever anxiety is showing up, therapy gives us space to slow it down and understand what is underneath it.
