Depression Therapy in Downingtown, PA
Depression can leave you feeling disconnected, exhausted, numb, or stuck. Even small tasks may feel overwhelming. At Solace Counseling Services, I work with teens and adults experiencing depression and low mood. Together, we can understand what is keeping you stuck and find ways to feel more supported and engaged in your life.
When everything feels harder than it used to
Depression does not always look like sadness. Sometimes it feels more like going through the motions. You may be keeping up with work, school, relationships, or responsibilities while privately feeling disconnected or exhausted. I work with clients experiencing:
❋ Difficulty with motivation❋ Changes in sleep❋ Hopeless or feeling stuck❋ Self-criticism❋ Persistent sadness or low mood❋ Feeling numb or disconnected❋ Irritability❋ Isolation or withdrawal❋ Difficulty concentrating❋ Loss of interest or enjoyment❋ Low energy or fatigueYou may know what happened, or simply notice that certain situations or emotions feel difficult to navigate. But you do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

What depression therapy can look like
I offer a grounded, collaborative approach that helps you understand what is weighing you down and identify realistic ways to move forward.
Some sessions may focus on getting through what feels difficult right now — finding motivation, managing responsibilities, reconnecting with people, or making space for emotions you have been pushing aside.
Other sessions may explore deeper patterns around self-worth, relationships, perfectionism, identity, past experiences, or the expectations you have learned to carry.
My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, somatic practices, ACT, DBT-informed skills, narrative therapy, and trauma-informed care.
Together, we can begin noticing patterns that keep you feeling stuck while finding small, realistic ways to move toward the life you want to be living.
Depression therapy for teens & adults
I work with both teens and adults navigating depression at different stages of life.
For teens, depression may show up as withdrawal, irritability, changes in motivation, difficulty at school, changes in friendships, or losing interest in things they previously enjoyed.
For adults, it may appear as exhaustion, isolation, difficulty keeping up with responsibilities, relationship changes, burnout, low self-worth, or feeling disconnected from a life that looks fine from the outside.
Wherever you are, therapy gives us space to understand what is happening without expecting you to already know how to fix it.
